First day on the Loop

Here is the rest of the story..... we left Pella after a few packed days...Ben was home and I enjoyed the sweetness of being around two of our children. We really got into packing our house up for the renters and of course I took every opportunity to hold Samuel. When I crawled out of Tom’s sports car (1997 Cavalier) after 8 hours I found it hard to walk, bend. After 2 chiropractic appointments I am on the mend. I still can throw lines. We met some Great Loopers and had supper with the- Gene and Patty so fun to compare boats and share faith stories.  So here is some of my reflections- Samuel was starting to take steps before we left- he was facing me and so excited to be standing that he would laugh and then as he walked towards me the excitement and thrill of walking towards me filled his face with JOY and I thought this is how it will be to walk towards Jesus- not being able to get our legs straight and then full sped on....
We have had some hard goodbyes ... Sturgeon Bay was our way away from home- Jason our marine  guy was the BEST ... but sailing away tomorrow will bring a new adventure!   First Mate Angie

Off to MAGGIE JO

Ang an I left Pella today in my old work car 1997 Chev Cavalier (Emily’s high school & college car) for Sturgeon Bay WI to get ready to start the Great Loop. We made if fine. Stay tuned to find out what happens to the car. When we got to MAGGIE JO we found two interesting thing. Our friends and neighbors had left us a bottle of wine on our rear deck and the sun had heated it up and popped the cork, not a drop had spilled. Up in our fly bridge one of our inflatable life vests had decided to inflate itself. Don’t know if it was heat, moisture or what ever. Our departure day looks like Tuesday 8-30.
